These events are a chance for small farmers to share information and good times, with an emphasis on good times. If you're too practical to leave the farm unless you're gaining new skills, we want to assure you that you'll learn something new at these events. And you're likely to meet someone who inspires you with their passion for farming.
You are welcome to attend the Small Farmer Get Togethers even if you don't identify as a small farmer. If you share our values for connecting people, land, and local knowledge, you'll find yourself in good company at these events.

You have an inkling that you'd like to grow your own food someday, but you're not ready to make the leap to farming yet. Or maybe you've thought about getting out of the city to live closer to the land, but can't imagine how to make it work with all of your commitments.
If these ideas resonate with you, you're likely well on your way to becoming an intern. And we're pretty sure you'll be hooked once you meet some of our very personable mentors, or chat with one of our former interns.
Even if you're certain that you won't be an intern this summer, you're welcome to come out and get connected with your local farming community. We encourage you to arrive early and stop in at the Mondragon, a supplier of locally grown and organic food. Get yourself a drink or something to eat, and bring it upstairs to the Small Farmer Get Together.
